2008 marked the show debut of Popeye and trainer Jocelyn Wiese. Together they have consistently won at Second Level at major shows and captured the East Coast Pony Cup in Saugerties, NY. Popeye is now training working pirouettes and half-passes. His new strength under saddle allows the brilliance in the extended gaits to come through as they did in-hand last fall when he was the Reserve Champion for the USDF East Coast Stallion Final at Dressage at Devon. In 2008 we welcomed the arrival of Popeye's first small foal crop, from both warmblood and pony mares. Kind eyes, well-developed hindquarters, and their sire's excellent gaits have come through strongly in each of these offspring.
