Royal Prince was Reserve Champion at both his 30-day and 70-day Preformance Tests. AS a five year old, he won the East Coast Selection Trials for the World Championships for Young Horses with an unprecedented score of 9.82. He was the highest-scoring Hanoverian at the championships that year, and is the highest-scoring American horse to date. Royal Prince finished his 2004 season by winning the US National Championships for Five Year Olds with an overall score of 9.14.

He repeated his East Coast Selection Trials win in 2005 and returned to the World Breeding Championships to represent the US. He consistently earned 9's and 10's for his walk, 8's and 9's for his trot, canter and submissiveness over these two years.
